NBC said that Games(2009) 1 and 2 averaged a 2.8 rating
and 5 share. That's up 17 percent from last year, when
the first games on the network were Games 3 and 4. Versus
showed Games 1 and 2 in 2008.
Sports Illustrated said The New
Year's Day event(2010) on NBC earned a 2.9 overnight rating
and a 6.0 share, the best overnight NHL regular-season
rating in nearly 13 years

the Red Wings drew a 4.3/8 final rating and 8 million
viewers on NBC Friday night, up 30% in ratings and 51%
in viewers from a 3.3 and 5.3 million for Oilers/Hurricanes
Game 7 in '06, and the most-viewed NHL telecast on any
network since Canadiens/Blackhawks Game 6 drew 9.4 million
in 1973.

of the 2011/12 NHL season on VERSUS delivered 601,000
average viewers, +5% from last years Opening Night
